You'll find caring instructors who will help you improve your skills and learn new ones.
Headed up by PGA professionals Bill Mory, and Ron Applegate our Learning Center features lessons and clinics for players of all ages and abilities. From our popular junior golf programs to a variety of adult classes, we offer both instructional and playing opportunities. Golf is truly the game of a lifetime, and we want you to enjoy every minute of it. Bill and Ron together have more than 50 years of teaching experience. They respect the challenges of the game, but believe in taking a simple approach with students. Like everything we learn in life, golf must be learned one-step at a time. So our learning programs are progressive in nature, building on each golfer's unique talents in an effort to achieve his or her goals. Golf can only be enjoyed fully if your play matches or exceeds your expectations. Our responsibility and promise is to take you to your goal. At the center, every student receives the personal and professional attention he or she needs and deserves. In private lessons or at group clinics or workshops, each student's abilities are assessed and a customized learning program is developed. Our instructors recommend plans for conditioning, pre-swing and in-swing fundamentals, drills, practice schedules, course management and game strategy. Among the many options that we offer are:

Bill enjoys sharing his knowledge of the game and the golf swing in group clinics or private lessons. Several of Bill's students have gone on to successful high school, college and professional careers. He currently serves are the Boys Varsity Golf Coach at Haslett High School where his team finished runner up at the 2005 MHSAA State Finals. Bill was the 2006 Michigan High School and Lansing Area Golf Coach of the year. His 2006 Haslett Boys Golf Team won the 2006 Division 2 MHSAA State Championship. Several of Bill's high school players are now playing college golf on scholarship. His passion for the game and his vast experience are sure to help you as well. Ron Applegate has taught golf to players of every level and continue to share his vast knowledge of the game in private, group and junior instructional programs. The former owner of the Applegate Golf Center in Haslett Ron also coached the Lansing Community College Men's Golf Team and continues to instuct all of the golf classes at LCC. He has been an educator at the high schoo and college level and brings that unique teaching perspective to the game of golf. Our Learning Center has a natural turf practice range that can handle 15 players at a time, a 4,000 square-foot practice putting green and short game practice area. The unique short game area has a 10,000 square foot practice green, a dedicated teeing area and two practice bunkers. 
After spending 13 years as the head professional and director of golf at Walnut Hills Country Club in East Lansing, Bill Mory purchased Meridian Sun in February 2000. Bill is an accomplished player and teacher and has competed in many state and national tournaments, including playing in the PGA Tour's Buick Open and in several Ben Hogan Tour events.
